STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
Any students who are interested in joining our FLASH Team in 2018

Please note that volunteer positions are available for current Sophomore students (meaning the student has completed 10th grade at the start of FLASH). Paid positions are available for current Junior, Senior or college students.
- Student workers/volunteers must complete and submit an online application through the Summit Public Schools' Applitrack portal, beginning Wednesday, March 21
- Student workers/volunteers must submit a Teacher Recommendation Letter, ONLY if you have not worked at FLASH in past summers (you must ask your teacher at least 1 week before you need the letter)
- Student workers/volunteers must include a brief paragraph explaining why you would like to be part of our team and what you can bring to the program (this should be typed in the "Additional Comments" section of the application)
- Teacher Recommendation Letters should be submitted to Mrs. Walker (SHS Main Office), by Friday, April 20
- Student workers/volunteers must be available for the entire 4-week program (Monday, July 9 - Wednesday, August 1), as well as our planning/orientation days (Monday, June 25 - Tuesday, June 26) and clean-up day (August2), no exceptions will be made
- Students who make it through the screening process will be invited in for an interview with the FLASH Administration
- Students who are offered an invitation (employee or volunteer) to join the FLASH Team, must attend our mandatory, FLASH Intro & Training (FIT) session, which will be held Thursday, May 31 (Date subject to change)
- Because we will be reviewing important program information, student employee responsibilities and expectations, as well as going through the rest of the process, any students who cannot attend FIT will not be able to join us this summer.
- If the necessary paperwork is not completed by the required deadlines, students will be ineligible to work at FLASH 2018.
The student employee/volunteer application, including Teacher Recommendation Letter and Personal Statement, must be submitted by Friday, April 20. Any incomplete applications or applications submitted after that date will not be accepted. Select candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview by early-May 2018.
TEACHER EMPLOYMENT
Any teacher interested in joining our FLASH Team in 2018 should visit the Summit Public Schools' Applitrack portal. Postings will be available beginning in Mid-January. Please check the postings on Applitrack. Select candidates will be invited in for an interview with the FLASH Administration by mid-February 2018.
